The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (PCAH)

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage is a grants organization with a network of cultural leaders dedicated to investing in artistic projects that showcase cultural vitality and enhance public life.

The PCAH approached Leftloft to design Pigeons on the Grass Alas, the first of a planned series of books that would be self-published and distributed by the organization. I served as Creative Director and lead designer to develop a design that could be adapted and customized for forthcoming publications while simultaneously building a cohesively branded series.

Pigeons is a symposium, a pocket-size venue for a contemporary arts discourse, supported by input from over 40 curators and artists in the field. The cover design is most distinguished by its patterned pigeon footprints, a nod to the title. Interior drawings were supplied by Pew Fellow Sarah McEneaney.
